DIRECTIONS
Inyo County (not to
be confused with the City of Indio) is located in the Eastern Sierra
region of California, about mid-way between Southern California and
Reno, Nevada. Independence and Bishop are located along
Highway 395. To Independence or Bishop from the San Diego,
Riverside, and San Bernardino areas: Take Highway 215 North to
Highway 15 North to Highway 395 North to Independence or Bishop.
To Independence or Bishop from the Los Angeles area: Take Highway 5
North to Highway 14 North (through Palmdale/ Lancaster and Mojave)
to Highway 395 North to Independence or Bishop.
Independence is located
approximately 227 miles north of Los Angeles, and is 15 miles north of
Lone Pine (Mt. Whitney). Independence is 41 miles south of Bishop.
Departments 1, 2, and 3 are located in Independence, the county seat of
Inyo County. The Courthouse is located on the East side of Highway

Bishop is approximately 203 miles south of
Reno, Nevada, and is 45 miles south of Mammoth Lakes (Mammoth Mt.

The Court in Bishop is located on Line Street 3 blocks west of
Highway 395 (Main Street) within the old grammar school building,
